The Stage Door Stars Program is in its 8th season!

Stage Door Stars is a division of Stage Door Productions, whose mission is to serve children with special needs by offering opportunities in theatre education, performance, and outreach. Our target audience is school aged children up to 22 years.

Our summer camp promotes creativity and provides students with a supportive environment to explore their talent and imagination. Our programs will offer performance opportunities with our main focus being on the process of theatre. The students will learn the art of acting, music, art, and dance. The Stage Door Stars program offers students the opportunity to build a foundation in theatre while gaining an appreciation for the arts that will enrich their lives.
Our camps are staffed by special education professionals, fine arts teachers, theatre directors, and choreographers. Trained volunteers serve as one-on-one support for the campers. Please see the information below for more information about our camp.

Stage Door Stars: Theater Camp for Children with Special Needs

Super Heroes

We will be working with the play SUPERHEROES, by Ian McWethy. For superheroes, saving the world is tough, but the time spent away from work is tougher. The Hulk has to do taxes, a crime-fighting sidekick joins a support group, and Batman goes stir-crazy without enough criminals to take down. SUPERHEROES is a funny, fast-paced series of vignettes that explores how the caped crusaders deal with life in street clothes.

Camp Description:

Join us for our summer camp that focuses on Superheroes! In our Creative Arts camp, campers will participate in art, dance, music, and theatre as we explore the theme of superheroes. We will also be doing some advanced production work with our experienced campers. This week-long theatre camp allows campers to showcase their skills. Campers will exercise their acting tools: body, voice, and imagination. We will be participating in rehearsals, memorizing scripts, and more! We will put on a performance on Friday, August 4 at 3 PM for friends and family. No experience necessary!
